A small Mac for local models. Apple's M5 Pro with an 18-core CPU, 20-core GPU and 64GB of unified memory, plus a 1TB SSD.
Why you'll love it
- 64GB unified memory: the CPU, GPU and Neural Engine share one 64GB pool at 307GB/s, so local models can run entirely in memory.
- M5 Pro power: 18-core CPU with 6 super cores and 12 performance cores, 20-core GPU with hardware-accelerated ray tracing, and a 16-core Neural Engine.
- Thunderbolt 5: three ports on the back at up to 120Gb/s, with support for up to three external displays.
- Small and quiet: 5 inches square and 2 inches tall, with a sound level of 5 dBA at idle, per Apple.
AI on this Mac
With 64GB of memory, this Mac runs Qwen 3.8, Gemma 4 and the smaller Q4 builds of Muse Glimmer. Peak memory we measured:
- Qwen 3.8 27B FP8: 46GB
- Gemma 4 12B: 27GB
- Muse Glimmer 30B Q4 builds: 22GB to 25GB
We measured these on a MacBook Pro with M5 Max, so expect slower speeds on this Mac. It's the same size as the Compact version of our server kit.
Good for drafting and summarizing, searching your own documents, and agent tasks for one person or a small team.
Comes with a free Izuran Pro license. Izuran Pro is our own AI software. We preinstall it as an early preview, and you can update it when new versions come out.
